CASP TEST

At The Heart Centre, we perform a non-invasive blood pressure test. The test takes about 3 minutes. At the end we provide you with 2 graphs.

The first is a static diagram showing the health of your arteries compared to a “safety zone”. This sample shows a 30 year old within the safety zone.

The second is the pulse wave graph discussed on the previous page. The velocity of the reflected wave determines the stiffness of the arteries.

It is feasible to have a “safe” CASP score but a poor pulse wave graph. The medical profession often have cases where there are no signs of heart failure until the patient is struck by a heart attack. The reflected pulse wave provides this additional information.

What does it mean to you?

The CASP test provides 2 important factors:

1. Gives you a graphical representation of the current condition of your arteries.

2. Gives you a graphical representation of the condition of your arteries after treatment. We can demonstrate and quantify to you the benefit of the treatment.

The initial test gives a reading on your condition and based on these results we propose a treatment. If the readings are healthy, then of course, no treatment is required.
After the relevant treatment, we perform a second test. To date, 95% of our clients have shown an improvement in their CASP score. This means that 95% of people that we have tested are less likely to develop heart disease.

For those on medication, we advise that all medication continues.
